Amber Mountain : Barrel-Aged Amber Rye Lager

Back in January, our sister brewery Jasper Brewing Co. was in the middle of a rebuild, but took the time to swing by Campio and brew up a bold amber rye lager. We then grabbed a couple whisky barrels from The Maligne Range, previously used to age their Amber Mountain Rye Whisky, and let half the beer rest in those barrels while the other half went into Campio’s red wine puncheons. After 6 months in the wood, we blended it all back together resulting in a rich, layered blend of spice, oak, and smooth complexity. Brewed with rye for a touch of warmth and depth while picking up notes of dark fruit, vanilla, and subtle smoke from the barrels.
